The Lower Manaslu Trek is a journey into the hidden heart of Nepal, where ancient traditions, stories of bravery and untouched mountain landscapes come together. Far from the busy trekking routes, this moderate and rewarding adventure takes you through authentic Gurung villages, lush forests and scenic ridges beneath the majestic Mt. Manaslu (8,163 m).

Beginning in historic Gorkha, the birthplace of modern Nepal and the kingdom of the great King Prithvi Narayan Shah, the trek follows trails rich in history and local legends. The villages of Barpak and Larpak are renowned not only for their warm hospitality but also for the courage of their people, many of whom served as Gurkha soldiers and earned prestigious honours, including the Victoria Cross.

Staying in traditional homestays offers a rare opportunity to discover the true spirit of Nepal. Share stories with local families, learn about their customs and daily life, and experience a culture that has remained deeply rooted in its traditions for generations.

The trail passes sacred sites and legendary places such as Sita Cave and Sirandanda, where local myths and spiritual beliefs are still very much alive. Every village, forest and mountain ridge reveals another chapter of the rich cultural heritage of Lower Manaslu.

The scenery is equally captivating. From the ridge of Dharche Danda, magnificent panoramas unfold across the Himalaya, with Mt. Manaslu (8,163 m), Ganesh Himal (7,422 m), Buddha Himal (6,672 m) and the beautiful Shringi Himal rising above the green hills and secluded valleys. On clear days, the iconic Machhapuchhre, or Fishtail (6,993 m), can also be seen in the distance.
