The Everest Dream Trek is an iconic journey in Nepal’s Khumbu region within Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The adventure reaches Gokyo and the Ngozumba Glacier, the longest glacier in the world, offering a true high-altitude Himalayan experience. It starts with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, followed by a walk along the Dudh Koshi River to Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa hub for acclimatization, markets and stunning Himalayan views. The global trail is generally easy, but the high altitude makes it challenging.
Along the route, the trail passes through charming Sherpa villages like Phortse, Machhermo and Gokyo. Khumjung Monastery, home to the famous Yeti skull, is a notable highlight. The largest of Gokyo’s five lakes, with an optional climb of Gokyo Peak for spectacular sunsets over the 8,000 m mountains, adds to the journey’s allure. Every step reveals breathtaking landscapes, from glacial valleys to towering mountains, making this a once-in-a-lifetime Himalayan adventure.
The trail continues over the challenging Renjo La Pass and through Thame to the luxurious Konde Resort. From Konde, panoramic views of the Everest Valley unfold, including towering mountains, deep valleys, and the Khumbu glaciers. After soaking in the scenery, the path descends to Taktok, or a helicopter flight over the Everest massif from Konde provides a final breathtaking perspective of the Himalayas.
